Chef Marcus Samuelsson, a renowned chef, restaurateur author, and winner of Bravo's Top Chef Masters, was recently in Atlanta for a food demonstration. He presided over a crowded, standing room only area in Macy's at Lenox Square as part of the Macy's Culinary Council programming to show Atlantans how to whip up great party food.
Though Chef Samuelsson was born in Ethiopia raised in Sweden and now lives in New York City, his Dirty Rice and Shrimp and Fried Yardbird were a huge hit with the Southern living crowd. As he prepared several dishes for the salivating women (and a few men) in the audience, he took the time to answer questions. Many were about a specific cooking dilemma but the last question of the day, posed by this author, spoke directly to moms. The question was: "What is your advice for busy moms to find the time to cook nutritious and delicious food, and how do you get the kids to eat it?" Read on for his answers!
