As the weather turns cooler in anticipation of the fall season, September is the best time to enjoy Chattanooga’s historical places. The Hunter Museum of Art, the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park, Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum and The River Gorge Explorer all have interesting events for history lover’s this month.
With the large number of events happening, it is easy to have a packed weekend. The attached list highlights the best of the best. These events include a few once-in-a-lifetime excursions that are a must attend. For example, the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park is commemorating the 150 Anniversary of the Civil War, especially the Battle of Chickamauga, which occurred on September 19-20th 1863.
