According to Cedartown police reports, two men have been arrested in connection with two different incidents involving a snatch and grab theft and a residential burglary.
Cedartown police officers responded to a burglar alarm call Tuesday at a private residence on MLK Blvd. and arrested one suspect inside the home. The suspect gained entry into the home through a kitchen window and was discovered hiding inside the bathroom of the home by the responding officers. The homeowner was not at home during the time of the burglary.
The suspect was placed under arrest and found to be in possession of an air pistol that he had lifted from the residence. The air pistol was returned to the victim's son.
City Officers arrested another suspect on Saturday after a female from Tallapoosa came into the station to report a snatch and grab robbery that also occurred within the city limits.
The female states that she was in the parking lot of Chef Chen restaurant when a black male approached her and ordered her not to get out of her car. The man then stated that he needed gas money so that he could visit his dying mother. He asked the female for $5. As the female pulled some bills out so that she could give him the $5, the man snatched all of the bills from the woman's hand.
According to police reports; the man asked the woman for a ride to Grand's Food Store and she refused. The man also attempted to hug the woman because she was being so nice to him.
The woman immediately went to the police station and reported the incident. According to police reports, a total of $8 was taken from the woman.
