CBS pulls 'The Job' from list of reality shows focused on careers

On Monday morning, CBS pulled future airings of "The Job" from their Friday night schedules, reports The Futon Critic. The series debuted two weeks ago to an audience of 4.1 million, with the second episode receiving under 3.5 million viewers. "Undercover Boss" will replace the reality competition series, effective February 22. At this time, no word has been given regarding whether the six remaining episodes of "The Job" will air.

"The Job" featured contestants competing in various challenges in an attempt to secure a position at a "dream company," like The Palm restaurant, "Cosmopolitan" magazine, and Viceroy hotel. Guest companies also had the opportunity to hire competitors during the process. Hosted by Lisa Ling, the series also offered job tips from company panelists during commercial breaks that could be applied to many industries.

Although "The Job" did not last long, there are many other reality competition series based on candidates seeking positions in their dream careers. Check out ten famous examples on the following list.
