It's been a whirlwind week at Walt Disney World, with two and a half days of media events centered about MyMagic+ and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. I learned about many other topics, too, and enjoyed a lot of Disney-style fun. It's always fun to meet the famous Disney characters in the parks, and it was a special treat to have them at the Rock Your Disney Side party that capped the first night
If you'd like to see who I met, check out the photos below. It was a great cross section of characters, from classics like Mickey and Minnie Mouse to a special visit from the two most popular characters at Walt Disney World (hint: think "Frozen").
I also met Snow White and all seven of the dwarfs. You can see those photos in this article.
Meanwhile, here are the characters from the Rock Your Disney Side dinner:
Anna and Elsa
Anna and Elsa routinely have multi-hour waits for their meet and greet at the Magic Kingdom. Thus I was thrilled to get a photo opportunity with them at the Rock Your Disney Side party.
Goofy was also on hand to celebration the Walt Disney World water parks. They're a great place to take a cool watery break on a hot summer day (my favorite is Typhoon Lagoon, with its lush tropical landscaping).
Festival of the Lion King
Festival of the Lion King is on hiatus while its new theater is built, but it will debut again in June. In the meantime, I was glad to see some of the performers at the Rock Your Disney Side dinner.
More Festival of the Lion King
I got another photo with two more Festival of the Lion King performers. I can't wait to see the show when it reopens in its nice, new Harambe home at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Festival of Fantasy Parade
I'm a huge fan of the Festival of Fantasy parade at the Magic Kingdom, so of course I had to pose with some of the performers from the finale float. I love the cute, colorful circus-inspired costumes.
More Festival of Fantasy
More Festival of Fantasy performers can out for meet and greets. Of course, I had to grab photos with them, as I really admire all the detail put into the various costumes for this parade.
Still More Festival of Fantasy
The Maleficent float is my favorite, so of course I had to pose with the raven and thorn bush when they came out to celebrate still more of the Festival of Fantasy Parade at the Rock Your Disney Side dinner.
I found some living statues hanging out in the front area of World Showplace, where the dinner was held. If you're a long-time Disney fan, you might remember that location by its former name: Millennium Village.
Mickey and Minnie
No event at Walt Disney World would be complete without Mickey and Minnie Mouse. I love the fact that they donned their formal wear to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Disney's Hollywood Studios.
