Carson Daly spoke about Miley Cyrus going nude for her Rolling Stone cover this morning on AMP radio, comparing her to the Boston bomber cover that Rolling Stone featured in July. Daly said that being on the cover of the magazine was a "reward," clearly something he didn't think Cyrus deserved to compare her to a terrorist. He thinks the magazine is rewarding bad behavior, saying that Cyrus was "just as bad."
Britney Spears, Jessica Biel, Drew Barrymore, and Christina Aguilera- to name a few- have all posed nude on magazine covers. Carson Daly is probably sick of the incessant media coverage Cyrus is receiving for "behaving badly," and reacted. However, comparing Miley to a terrorist is a pretty far reach. None of the above mentioned stars have received as much flack or as much press as Miley Cyrus for doing the same exact things. Christina Aguilera was also on the Disney Channel. Maybe there's something in the water over there that causes stars to become nudists after a certain point. The only difference is that no one was calling Xtina a terrorist. The cycle of endless press for Cyrus will continue because she's keeping everyone talking. As the saying goes, "no press is bad press."
Carson Daly should receive some pretty piles of hate mail for his comments. After Perez Hilton began yelling at him on the radio for his comments about Miley, Daly retracted, stating that Miley's upcoming album will "sell well."
