There is a special time ever year when New York Fashionista's get to strut all their fashion loveliness; it's New York Fashion Week and the time is now.
Always September brings out the best and brightest stars to New York's Lincoln center. This year is no exception. I decided that this year I'd be armed with knowledge up-front on things like how to get that fashion week look to who is who in the front row. These are on my list of things to know:
1- Find out what going on and where it is. In the earlier days we didn't have many other resources to find out where shows are being held. The famous Ruth Finley's Fashion Calendar was our only resource and very pricey and seemingly exclusive. Ruth Finely's calendar has been the #1 organizer of international fashion events for 65 years.
2- The times have surely changes and there are so many ways to get a closer look to where all the shows are. The hottest and easily accessible resources are Women's Wear Daily Calendar it may be a little shorter than all the info you get on Ruth's calendar but it is compiled by industry experts and has a clear insight on all the fashion events in New York City.
3-The fashion daily bible call The Daily Front Row has its own Fashion Show calendar on their site that has an equally comprehensive list of shows. If you also want to catch up on what's been happening in fashion you can visit Issuu.com for the Daily Front Row past Issues.
4-Now if you have not gotten the jest of all the goings on try the number one ranking paid resource is The Fashion List. With a monthly fee the Fashion list is a very comprehensive and organized. It gives you the chance to save to your personal calendar within the site once registered. This is an easy fix if you want to add a little control to your chaotic fashion week schedule.
5- Last but not least this group of lists deserve honorable mentions. NowFashion.com a quick list focused on live video streams of varied fashion events. Fashion Week Dates and The CUT by NYMag are showing events that might not be listed elsewhere.
Fashion Week in NYC is not only in the prestigious Lincoln Center it is all over the city. Figure out what you want to see and where you want to be NOW.
