Friday night will be a big night for college football in the state of Utah as BYU hosts the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (7 p.m., ESPNU) at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo. The Cougars (1-2) are coming off a 20-13 loss to rival Utah and will be looking to get back to .500 ball before a string of tough opponents come calling.
There were many ways in which the Cougars will need to improve against the Blue Raiders who boast a 3-1 record after wins against Western Carolina and Memphis. But where most people are surprised about MTSU is the manner in which it handled Florida Atlantic 42-35 in overtime, marking its first ever Conference USA victory as a new member.
