'Buxom bandit' who flaunted breasts during armed robbery gets jail time

A woman who has come to be known by the media worldwide as the “buxom bandit" who was armed with a knife and used her ample breasts to distract a gas station worker so she could steal $300 back in July 2012 has been sentenced to four years in an Australian prison, perthnow reported yesterday.

Tonee Walker, 22, first made the headlines and became a YouTube wonder last July when surveillance video from the gas station she robbed was released.

The video shows Walker in a low cut top brandishing a knife and threatening and robbing gas station attendant Gary Corcoran, and “laughing as she ran out with $300 from the till.”

Her getaway driver Alexander Joshua Spinks told police that before the robbery she intentionally lowered her top to expose her breasts and told friends in the car she planned to give the male console operator "something to look at''.

Authorities caught up with Tonee Walker five days after her armed robbery thanks to fingerprints she left at the scene of the crime.

When she appeared in court, Walker was dressed much more modestly in a demure black shirt-dress.

Walker’s lawyer, Marcin Lazinski, told the court his client was high on amphetamines and Xanax when she robbed the gas station.

The prosecutor in the case against Walker, Mark Whitbread, said that her crime was a serious one. He also credited the cool headed gas station attendant for not retaliating against his armed robber in kind.

"It was truly a violent robbery where a man has shown extreme courage acting in the way he did," Whitbread said.

The judge in the case said the video footage of the armed robbery was "disturbing" and also praised Mr. Corcoran's bravery.

The judge sentenced the buxom bandit to four years in prison. Tonee Walker will be eligible for parole after serving 16 months.
