Strangers on the High Seas by Carole P. Roman is the fourth book in the Captain No Beard series of picture books. In this book, Captain No Beard has the added responsibility of keeping an eye on his baby sister. He clearly does not appreciate having her aboard, but when they end up being chased by pirates that are strangers she ends up saving them.
Overall Stranger on the High Seas is a fun picture book for young kids, especially those interested in pirates. Kids with younger siblings can probably relate to the Captain and perhaps even discover they can have adventures/play together more rather than just being a chore to keep an eye on them. It also briefly touches on stranger danger and can encourage imagination as the end reveals that the ship is really a bed.
