Bobby the bunny adjusts to life as a tripod

Readers will remember Bobby-the-bunny - the Zooh Corner Rabbit Rescue sanctuary bunny. Bobby was living in horrific circumstances until he was rescued and brought to Zooh Corner. While Bobby has ongoing dental issues, thanks to the kind volunteers at Zooh Corner, he now has a happy life as a beloved house rabbit.

Several weeks ago, Bobby suffered a blockage in his small intestine; thanks to an alert foster mom, immediate emergency intervention and a skilled exotics veterinary surgeon, the blockage was successfully removed; unfortunately Bobby subsequently threw a blood clot to his right leg, necessitating amputation of two of his toes later his foot, and ultimately his entire leg. Poor Bobby!

Two weeks ago Bobby suffered gastrointestinal issues - mostly due to stress (imagine that) – and another trip to the emergency room was required. That issue was resolved as well, and Bobby is now doing much better. The surgical site of the amputation is healing well, and Bobby is learning how to negotiate as a tripod bunny. Bobby remains an upbeat little trooper despite all that he has been through, and is enjoying his life with his forever-foster mommy.

Your prayers and donations have made a huge impact, but Zooh Corner still owes $1500 on Bobby’s veterinary bills – over $2000 has already been paid off through the loyalty of Bobby’s fans and all the other Zooh Corner supporters out there (copies of the vet bills can be seen on the Zooh Corner Facebook page).

Zooh Corner has other abandoned bunnies of course – including Kay, who is fighting cancer – and there have been other ER trips recently, as well as the ongoing costs of food, medications, utilities and the like. Zooh Corner had worked very hard to get their vet bill balance from $18000 to less than $5000 in 2012. With Bobby's remaining bills and veterinary bills for their other poorly bunnies, Zooh Corner is at $6448.61 - but this is still do-able with your help!

Zooh Corner’s veterinarian is being lenient but of course the bills do need to be paid - Zooh Corner is down to $100 in their account and is definitely in need of funds. Won’t you consider donating today? Any amount you can spare will be most gratefully received – and you can donate right now online via PayPal, or you can send Zooh Corner a check, or you can call their veterinarian directly and pay over the phone with a credit card.

Please help Zooh Corner help Bobby and the other bunnies in their care. Watch the video to learn more about Bobby and see what a handsome fellow he is, and keep him – and Zooh Corner – in your prayers.
