The 2013 NCAA basketball tournament officially began on Thursday, March 21, 2013, and it brought a lot of great first round action. There were some comebacks, close games, and even a good number of blow outs. With lots of time left in the tournament, there are also the fans looking at the cheerleaders and seeing just what kind of stunts, cheers, and looks they are bringing for the big dance.

Yahoo Sports and a number of other media outlets make it a point to check out the cheerleaders and get the best shots of them. Some of them even make it a point to critique the uniforms that the girls and guys are wearing, and that's why it is always a good idea to get the best pics of them.

Sadly, a number of these squads have already found their way out of the tournament due to first round losses by their schools, but that doesn't make their effort any less impressive.

There is still one more full day of action in the first found of the 2013 NCAA basketball tournament, and that means plenty more shots of cheerleaders doing and showing their best. After Friday, March 22, 2013, though, there will be less than half of them remaining.

After that comes the cheerleaders of the second round, Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final Four, and championship game.

  • Straight out of the saloons of Texas,  yahoo sports like the fun fringe on the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs cheerleaders' uniforms.
  • The trendy uniforms of the Florida State Seminoles cheerleaders are cleverly tied up and wrapped around them for a completely different look.
  • Yahoo Sports believes that the Miami Hurricanes sequined style cheer uniform feels a little like a Rio carnival outfit and less like one for that of a basketball tournament.
  • Looks like Lululemon pants (but not see-through) on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons cheerleaders, and a loose-fitting black-and-white tank top that seems straight out of a gym class.
  • The Kansas Jayhawks cheerleaders have the flower-child style with sunflowers behind their ears, but we’d vote for this without the studded skirt belt. Simple is sometimes better.
  • A little Vegas-style glitter, glitz, and glamour goes a long way for the cheerleaders representing the Missouri Tigers at the NCAA basketball tournament.
  • White boots, pale tights and short shorts bring on a ‘60s vibe for the Virginia Commonwealth Rams for a look that is all cheerleaders a-go-go.
  • The UCLA jumpsuits are a break from the usual skirt and tops, but this is a throwback mod squad in a way that works very well for them and their girls.
  • The Boise State Broncos uniform is flirty and fun, with a top that looks evening gown inspired. Good twist and a look that is easily seen when not on the blue football field.
