Do you know what hypoallergenic means? Hypoallergenic when it comes to cosmetic products basically means that the product in question contains less allergens that will irritate allergy sufferers. It doesn't mean that there aren't any allergens at all just less. Coined back in 1953 through a cosmetic campaign hypoallergenic is not a medical term and shouldn't be used as such. When it comes to cosmetics that are hypoallergenic, these products are less likely to cause a reaction by the user and can easily be used also by those who have sensitive skin or just want a product that's gentler in nature.
Become Gorgeous has come up with a list of ten of the best hypoallergenic cosmetic products on the market today. Remember though, just because it works for someone else doesn't necessarily mean it's going to work for you. No two people are made the same and there is no one product on the market that is 100% allergen free. Because the term hypoallergenic is hard to regulate by the FDA, caution should still be used when trying out these products. Just like you test your hair dye by doing a strip test 24 hours in advance, you should teat these products out in a small unnoticeable area of your body to ensure that you won't have a reaction.
