Best Films of 2013

See also

2013 has been a wild ride at the box office. Studios invested in multiple non-starters (“R.I.P.D.” and “The Lone Ranger”) and poured billions into sequels. Some films improved on the franchise, while others effectively ended them. Despite tentpoles performing moderately, the quality in those films wasn’t there. In previous years, blockbusters and sequels made their way to many year-end lists. But the best films of 2013 weren’t the most mainstream choices. In fact, that’s what made the discovery of these films that much more valuable. So in lieu of a list peppered with obvious choices for the best films of 2013, here is my list for the best cinematic experiences of the year. (see my list in the attached slideshow)
