With autumn season here and Christmas just around the corner, it is time to start thinking about the best books for gift giving during the holidays in 2013. And on Thursday the St. Louis Post Dispatch said you shouldn't neglect to think about giving the gift of reading to children when you can, as many poor children don't have books in their homes.
Less fortunate adults and senior citizens, however, don't have organizations like the Ready Readers in St. Louis to help them in obtaining books for their reading pleasure or ownership, like children do. So when you consider generous acts of kindness this upcoming holiday, think about also giving a less fortunate adult neighbor the gift of a book, too. And give books that can help them learn something new, like with a cookbook or wreath making book.
