This is the fourth in a series of articles regarding bus safety. This article will differ from the first three in that it will focus on how parents and other drivers can help keep students safe while on the bus as opposed to what students need to do in terms of bus safety.
Have you ever read about a bus accident and shook your head in amazement when reading these words, I didn’t see the bus. What? How can someone miss a bright yellow school bus with dimensions of 8’ by 37’ and a weight of 10,000 pounds or more? Now I understand the reason behind that old commercial that said something to the effect of Be Aware: School’s in Session and had a big, yellow, school bus in the background.
If one is unable to see a school bus, it is either time for a new vision test or for someone to return their license to the Division of Motor Vehicles. In most cases, it is likely the other driver was not paying attention to what was happening on the road.
