On Sept. 4 it was announced in an issued press release that Avenged Sevenfold's sixth studio album "Hail to the King" debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. Other artists that ranked high this week on the chart includes Luke Bryan, Big Sean, Justin Timberlake, and Robin Thicke. According to an issued press release Avenged Sevenfold's album "Hail to the King" sold upwards of 159,400 units, making it the biggest first week sales debut for a rock album this year. The album was released on Aug. 27 via Warner Bros. Records and it was the band's second consecutive No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 chart. The band's other No. 1 album was "Nightmare," which was released in 2010.
Out of all the albums that reached the top 10 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart this week, four of them have only been released for a week. The four artists that had new releases on Aug. 27 that made it into the top 10 includes Avenged Sevenfold, Alabama & Friends, Juicy J, and Big Sean.
