A female student on her way to Lakeside Middle School Thursday morning reported that a man offered her a ride and then blocked her path with his vehicle when she refused his offer. The middle-schooler described him as a White male around age 50 with graying hair some facial hair. He was driving a White Jeep Wagoneer with a blue stripe. The incident occurred in front of the Hawaiian BBQ restaurant on the corner of Woodside Ave and Wintergardens Blvd.

Lakeside Middle School sent emails to alert parents; requesting that parents review stranger-safety with their children. Police were called this morning and the responding Sheriffs found the girl’s information to be credible.
