GOP Republicans are being considered Domestic Terrorists as they hold the United States government hostage with the threat of government shut down. Currently the United States is in a debt crisis and may be unable to pay its creditors. The only solutions to this problem is to raise the debt limit, which will allow the government to borrow enough money to pay its bills and continue its proper functionality. In order for the debt limit to be raised, the House and the Senate make the decision. The President does not make this decision as the House of Representatives are responsible for the government's financial business. Usually, this would not have been such a huge ordeal, especially since during the Bush administration the debt limit was raised numerous times without one complaint from either Democrat or Republican. All misinformed Americans should be aware of what is really going on without all the drama and hyperbole. Below is a simplified explanation of what is going on and explain why some Americans are labeling the Republican Party as domestic terrorists.
The Domestic Terrorism begins...
- The Republicans have decided that they will use the debt limit crisis as leverage to repeal Obamacare. It is also important to mention that Obamacare has absolutely nothing to do with raising the debt limit. The Republicans included these contingencies assuming that President Obama would concede in the wake of a government shut down.
- A second strategy was implemented when Republicans saw that the first would not prove successful. Instead of repealing Obamacare, the Republicans will only vote for a debt limit extension if the implementation of the health care law is delayed for a year. Again it should be emphasized that the Republicans can just vote to increase the debt limit without all the extra contingencies, but they are adamant about repealing Obamacare and will get it done despite America's approval.
- The Republicans have also included in their demands that coverage for birth control devices be defunded under Obamacare.
Summarily, after all of these demands are met, our politicians will vote to keep the government running as long as they get what they want.
