According to Wilderness Inquiry, the Apostle Islands, located on Lake Superiors South Shore, is a sea kayaker’s paradise. Paddlers can explore majestic sea caves, sandy beaches, historic lighthouses and sunken shipwrecks.

Wilderness Inquiry is an “Inclusive Outdoor Adventure Travel” guide. Their mission “Is to connect people from all walks of life to the natural world through shared outdoor adventures.” Through the medium of outdoor adventure travel, “We inspire personal growth, enhanced awareness of the environment and community integration. They offer several guided tours like Family Outdoor Adventures and Women’s Adventures. Tours are arranged by date, activity (canoe, kayak, whitewater rafting), or by region, which includes quite an extensive list.

Participants can explore Kenya, Tanzania, the Apostle Islands, or the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. You can paddle the Mississippi River, hike the Big Island of Hawaii, sea kayak Prince William Sound or discover the wonders of Yellowstone National Park.

However, one of the most popular tours are the Apostle Island. “Our sea kayak, hike, and family adventures focus on showcasing the beauty of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and Lake Superior, the largest freshwater lake in the world.” They have conducted these tours since 1988.

Superior Sea Kayak

Located on the South Shore of Lake Superior near Bayfield, Wisconsin, the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is a sea kayaking paradise. This 22-island archipelago is known for its majestic sea caves, sandy beaches, historic lighthouses, and sunken shipwrecks. In 2007 Wilderness Inquiry established a base camp there at Little Sand Bay to provide comfortable but simple accommodations in a private natural setting.
