Let us all accept the fact that not everyone is looking forward to Valentine's Day. Some of us may not have a loved one, have gone through a recent breakup or simply believe the holiday is just a government-exploited, shallow day. If you are one of those who are against Valentine’s Day, you are not alone.
With all the stores taking advantage of the holiday of romance, it seems as though the “holiday” is haunting you. Since as early as January, we have found ourselves surrounded by the pink and red section of every store we walk into. Valentine’s Day is teasing you for disliking it no matter the valid reason you have to be against it.
Instead of rolling your eyes, wanting to yell at the adorable teddy bear with the “I love you” heart for staring at you, celebrate Anti-Valentine’s Day in your own way. Don’t think of it as Single Awareness Day or as a terrible reminder of your ex. Think of it as a reminder that you are independent, happy and living a full life on your own.
If you start to mope around or forget how amazing you are, you can turn to the magic of music. Musicians who go through the same things as us find the ability to inspire us though their music.
Click through the list of photos for a playlist of songs that will empower you, your independence, happiness and life and make you proud to be an anti-lover.
By the way, if you are waiting for that special someone to tell you how they feel, don’t worry not everyone waits around for this one “romantic” day of the year to reveal their feelings for you.
