Do you like the complete 180 that Mother Nature threw us today? We started out cloudy, gloomy, and muggy. By late morning, nearly all of the clouds broke and we are seeing rapidly improving conditions.
As cooler air rushes in aloft, a few clouds may build briefly late this afternoon. This is from the unstable conditions that develop when cool air moves in over a warm surface layer in the atmosphere. These instability clouds will be mostly nothing more than clouds, although an isolated sprinkle cannot be completely ruled out. It will not be a big deal and the chance will diminish after 6 p.m.
With clearing skies, the temperature will drop quickly into the 70s this evening. The dew point started in the lower 70s today (tropical feeling!) but will be in the upper 50s for your Friday evening. That falls below the 60 degree threshold of mugginess which means a great feeling evening is on tap.
If you do not have outdoor plans on Saturday, you might want to make some even if it’s just to do some yard work. This weekend will not be quite as cool as last weekend, but it will still feature wall to wall sunshine. Highs will top out near 83 degrees on Saturday and 86 degrees on Sunday. It will be a great weekend to head to the pool or go to that amusement park you have wanted to hit up all summer long.
Enjoy the nice weather this weekend because the heat and humidity will return in full force next week. A weather pattern will develop that we have not seen much of so far this summer. Highs will head close to 90 degrees! A few storms will even be possible towards the middle of the week. Check back here for the latest forecast updates and have a great weekend.
