After the receiving such wonderful feedback from you all on the Valentine’s Day trip down memory lane, I figured what better way to kill some time during this three week “Castle” hiatus than to post some additional lists chronicling our favorite moments over the years?

Given the heavy family element of “Target” and “Hunt”, and that moment with Beckett kicking Henson’s girlfriend out of the chair during interrogation, I asked you folks on Twitter which list you’d prefer to see first: Castle family moments over the years, or the best of “Badass Beckett”? Unsurprisingly, the response for a BAMF Beckett list was overwhelming in light of the recent episode.

Over the past five seasons, actress Stana Katic has shown us many sides to her character, Detective Kate Beckett, that have endeared us all to her. From the one-liners of “Alakazam, jackass” and “sunny, chance of ass-kicking”, to kicking in doors and roughing up suspects, the ferocity of Kate Beckett continues to be an aspect of the character that we thrive on, and are thrilled to see time and time again. As “Trapper John” said in “Cops & Robbers”, Beckett is definitely a hellcat when it comes to protecting the ones she loves, and we as viewers love her all the more for it. It’s no wonder Kate Beckett was trending worldwide on Twitter this past Monday!

So in honor of Stana Katic and her alter-ego, the Extraordinary KB, I present to you this list of “Badass Beckett” moments from season 1 until now. It is in no way a complete list, but I think you'll find these 20 moments quite satisfying.

  • Ah, their first gun battle. Castle and Beckett may not have gotten along very well in the early days but there was no denying that they made a great team. This moment gets the first spot on our list because not only did Beckett take Baylor out, that part where she blows the hair out of her face first?   • In "Deep in Death", Beckett's still pretty pissed off at Castle for digging into her mother's murder. Then he goes in and gets himself in trouble with Russian mobsters, resulting in Beckett tearing off a few layers of clothing, adopting a Russian accent and saving him. This one is a BAMF moment of so many layers.See the full scene here.
  • She didn't want to kill him, but there was really no getting around it with Castle's life at stake. Like something out of a cowboy western, Beckett's fast draw took Coonan out and saved Castle's life in the process.Watch the full scene here.
  • I know, I know. Demming is still a bit of a sore spot amongst the fandom but hey, who doesn't enjoy watching Beckett lay him out flat and whoop his butt on the mat? That scene was pretty awesome, and certainly highlighted a great deal of Beckett's hand-to-hand combat skills.Watch the full scene here.
  • Castle and Beckett needed to determine whether or not to charge their supposed killer with murder or manslaughter. As a result, we find the two of them down at the shooting range firing off some antique guns and looking like old fashioned gunslingers all the while. "Punked" was such a fun episode wasn't it? Well...until the end part anyway...Watch the full scene here.
  • There are a few scenes one could include from "Knockdown" that would easily make this list, but this one takes the cake. Beckett threw Vulcan Simmons into the glass and shattered it before getting up in his face and threatening him."Remember your old life, Vulcan. Savor it, because I'm gonna take it all away."Watch the full scene here.
  • Writer Boy really did put it best when he said that it was amazing. Castle and Beckett's first kiss may have been a ruse, but it comes coupled with Beckett knocking out one of Lockwood's goons, and that made it even better.Watch the full scene here.
  • See that picture? Now, if you had no idea what happened in this scene, it'd be pretty easy to mistake this as some flirty exchange. But we all know that Beckett was undercover and ended up smashing this guy's face into the table before kicking another guy in his crotch. We need far more undercover moments for Castle and Beckett, don't you agree?Watch the full scene here.
  • So, first they get into a pretty crazy gunfight with some terrorists, and then they get locked inside a freezer that Beckett literally tries to shoot her way out of. We'll forgive the detective for the poor choice of hiding spot and nearly getting them frozen to death if only because the freezer scene that ensued was just so good.Gunfight here.  Beckett vs freezer door here.
  • Sometimes BAMF moments don't have to involve some form of wrath or physical harm. Sometimes just a simple one-liner is enough to show that Kate Beckett means business, and she's in complete command of that box.Watch the full scene here.
  • Castle and Beckett flew to LA to hunt down Royce's murderer, and between her breaking into a house, hurdling over a pier railing, and then shooting Ganz, the whole episode was just made of BAMF moments.Watch the full scene here.
  • The season 3 finale has it's share of moments, but one stands out for me: Beckett shooting at a helicopter. Let me say that again. She shot at a helicopter. Need I say more?Watch the full scene here.
  • Listen to me jackass, I do not control traffic so you're gonna have to give me twenty minutes. No! I've got twenty. Do you hear me? Twenty. Because if you pull that trigger, I will walk through those doors and personally put a bullet through your skull.Enough said.Watch the full scene here.
  • It can be debatable as to whether this scene is heartbreaking due to her PTSD, or downright scary because of how vicious she is towards the sniper she's interrogating. This is probably the first episode where I realized that Beckett was not only a badass, but could be absolutely terrifying under the right (or wrong) conditions.Watch the full scene here.
  • She may not have won this one, but she sure put up a hell of a fight with Cole Maddox. Beckett had a lot of moves in her arsenal, including a swift kick to Maddox's jaw, but in the end it wasn't enough. We'll still give her BAMF points for the valiant effort (and for this failure leading to you-know-what.)Watch the full scene here.
  • After over thirteen years, she finally got the name of the man behind her mother's murder. The confrontation with Senator Bracken is deeply emotional, but quickly takes a turn for awesome when Beckett pistol whips Bracken and puts some fear into him for a change.Whoever it is you think I am, whatever it is you think you know about me, you have no idea what I'm capable of, or how far I will go.   • Triple Killer Jerry Tyson, otherwise known as "3XK", made his grand return to the show in "Probable Cause" and seemingly went out with a Bang! Beckett kind of went Terminator mode on 3XK in this scene before Castle had to step in and finish the job.Watch the full scene here.
  • "I'm not a cop today, honey."And here we have it: the most recent, and possibly most badass amongst badass Beckett moments in the history of the show. Let it be known that 1) Beckett does not take kindly to being called a bitch, and 2) Don't keep information she needs from her, especially when it involves something with Castle.Watch the full scene here.And that's the end of the list, folks.
