High pressure was centered over central New York state early this morning, and will drift lazily eastward, off the New England coast, through the day today. After some patchy morning fog burns off, a mix of sunshine and clouds will be in the offing across the entire Capital Region today. Temperatures will warm well into the 80’s with dewpoints creeping toward 60 degrees, making the airmass a bit more on the humid side, though far from oppressive.
After another mostly clear night with low temperatures forecast to be about 3 to 5 degrees above normal, another humid day is expected on Thursday. A cold front is forecast to dive southward from Canada, and pass through the region during the late afternoon and evening hours. Showers and thunderstorms should break out along and ahead of the frontal system, over the Capital Region, during that time frame.
A remnant upper level disturbance looks to pass through the region on Friday bringing a slight chance of a shower to the region. The general trend should be toward mostly sunny, dry, and less humid conditions, with a bit of a breeze kicking up in the afternoon as surface high pressure begins to build in from Canada.
The weekend looks fair and dry, with seasonable temperatures as the Canadian high pressure area remains in control of the weather throughout that time, and into early next week.
