“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. (Matthew 6:5)
Prayer is a conversation with the Almighty God. Believers can speak to him about every concern. God hears. He will answer. Prayers are not to be made for a show at any time. The presence of others should not be one’s motivation to pray. Some people are being phony in front of others. They are doing activities to make themselves seem religious. People are doing this to get the applause of men instead of God. They love the appearance of piety.
God says that is their reward. Their pretention gets no further reward from Him. One has to question if their prayer even gets answered. The most likely answer is no. Reward means that a person receives a return for investment. Investments can utilize different resources. Prayer utilizes faith, righteous lifestyle, time, persistence, and perseverance. The reward for this type of prayer is answers from God in Jesus name.
Challenge: Believer, pray so that God answers you!
