On March 24, 2014, the Fort Myers Film Festival (FMff) announced to the public the names of the winners from their award ceremony that was held on March 23. The event was held in Fort Myers, Fla.

Filmmakers, celebrating the best of the fest, were not only from Southwest Florida, but they also hailed from all over the world. A few of those global locations included London, NYC and L.A.

"The Fort Myers Film Festival has completed a week-long celebration of indie films. We enjoyed the event with champagne and dessert. The ceremony was hosted by Eric Raddatz and Melissa DeHaven at the Broadway Palm Theatre in Fort Myers." - FMff

One of the FMff winners was Michael Rossato-Bennett. This film director was also part of FMff's opening night film "Alive Inside: A Story of Music & Memory."

The film reveals a music-based breakthrough that has already transformed lives. It was spearheaded by social worker Dan Cohen and captured on camera over the course of three years by filmmaker Michael Rossato-Bennett.

The festival event (FMff) offers ‘the most vibrant intellectual and edgy crowd to grace Lee County in decades.’ The event has featured over four dozen local filmmakers is a must attend for cineasts who love indie film and film festivals living in Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties.

“Alive Inside: A Story of Music & Memory" reveals a music-based breakthrough that has already transformed lives. Spearheaded by social worker Dan Cohen and captured on camera over the course of three years by filmmaker Michael Rossato Bennett, it shows viewers how songs from a patient’s past can awaken memories and emotions that have been asleep for years, sometimes decades.
