In the U.S. we really value competition. It's important for us - as a nation - to know who is the best. Doesn't matter what topic, we just need to know who is at the top of the list. On a world stage, clearly it's us. The United States has been the best at being number one for several decades and there's no sign of us slowing down (unless you watch the news).
Clearly, we're the coolest, most awesome nation that ever was or ever will be, but maintaining that position is a lot of work. It's still important to know where our strengths and weaknesses lie. And since covering our country's strengths is a total snoozefest, we decided to focus in on the less shiny aspects of each state. After all, who needs another article pointing out that Utah is the most charitable state, when you could write an article about Utah having a pretty bad online porn problem.
Be honest: which is really more interesting? There's a lot of ground to cover, so let's get moving!
U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!
