Allegiant Air began non-stop service to Las Vegas from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport this afternoon. The flights from Austin will normally operate on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday of every week. Monday flights depart at 8:00 PM and arrive in Las Vegas at 8:50 PM. On the other days, the flights will depart Austin at 1:05 PM and arrive in Las Vegas at 1:55 PM. Return trips to Austin will operate during the same days. All times are local. During today's inaugural, an Elvis impersonator and a Las Vegas showgirl greeted the passengers at the terminal. Commemorative cupcakes with Las Vegas themes and a gift bag courtesy of the airline were given out to each passenger. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed at the gate as well as the customary water cannon salute.
