Airports can be hectic. Frazzled from odd and early hours, stressed for many different reasons and squeezed into a tight space on the aircraft can take health and send it spiraling. To find a spot to regroup, unwind, stretch or exercise seems like the perfect solution for uneasy travelers. To enhance the experience with a healthy snack can make a short layover a more pleasant experience. Airports are catching on. In 2010, airports started realizing that travelers’ need a place to walk, relax and eat healthier options. A few airports are now finding success with yoga rooms, fitness rooms and even organic food choices and it seems to be trending with many other airports in the country.
Healthy work-outs and yoga, no doubt, pump the energy, reduce stress but also can get the sweat flowing. Practicing a work-out, then jumping on an aircraft could possibly harbor more bacteria on those seats and tray tables. Eating healthy may be the first step to healthy flying, creating a strong immune system so illness won’t get in the way.
