After 'VMars' success, what other series might make the leap to the big screen?

“Veronica Mars” fans dug deep into their wallets yesterday in overwhelming support to bring the series to the big screen. Series writer/director/creator Rob Thomas and star Kristen Bell announced March 13 that a movie would be made if the funding to back it could be raised. A campaign was posted on Kickstarter.com imploring fans to help them reach their goal of two million dollars.

Fans (affectionately dubbed ‘Marshmallows’) responded and the funds were raised in just a matter of hours. The movie is currently rumored to hit the screen by 2014.

“Veronica Mars,” which aired on the UPN/CW from 2004 to 2007, was set in Neptune, California. It chronicled the adventures of title character Veronica Mars, a teenage sleuth who worked to solve crimes.

The overwhelming fan response to help fund this movie brings up an interesting question. What other series might be resurrected in the same way? Here’s a list of five other series that might benefit from a Kickstarter campaign.
