Actors Summit is one of those delightful theater experiences that everyone should have. Housed on the sixth floor of Greystone Hall in Akron, the theater lobby comes equipped with a full size old fashioned bar and the theater itself has an old world feel of original wood paneling. It has been decided by The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s
Guild Dramatic Society to put on “a work”. They have decided upon the Charles Dickens classic “A Christmas Story”. With no experience and less budget they shoulder on in the tradition of the English theatre. Dickens will not know what hit him.

What is now a familiar image to us all, Photograph 51 was the very first photograph showing the double helix structure of DNA. This is the story of scientist Rosalind Franklin, Ph.D. whose uncompromising standards kept her from receiving the coveted Nobel Peace Prize. It is a show about biology, ethics, women’s equality and anti-Semitism showing that IQ does not necessarily negate bigotry.

“Alfie,” “Walk on By,” “The Look of Love,” “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head,” “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again”…these are just a few of the hits made famous by the song writing team of Burt Bacharach and Hal David. These hits and twenty more will be featured in this love fest of music.

Individual ticket prices range from $20 at preview performances to $33 for Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 PM, and Sunday afternoons at 2 PM. Seniors over 65 receive a $5 discount at all performances. Full time students under 30 with current ID are $10.
