A wee bit of Scottish culture and history, at ScotsFest on the Queen Mary

ScotsFest, Southern California's premier Scottish Festival, will be held on the Queen Mary in Long Beach Harbor, on February 16 and 17 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. If you are of Scottish heritage or enjoy Scottish culture and cuisine, this is the place to be.

During the two days there willl be athletic competitions, highland sports, sword dancing, and authentic Scottish cuisine and music. ScotsFest draws competitors, from as far away as Scotland, to compete in the International Bag Piping and Scottish dancing competitions. Here are some of the other activities

(a) A grand Parade showcasing the Scottish clans and bands taking part in the festival

(b) A taste of traditional Whiskey, sponsored by the - Black Grouse, Famous Grouse, McAllan, the Single Malt, and Highland Park

(c) Sheepherding, a unique and unpredictable event where owners, their dogs, and the sheep compete over an obstacle course.

(d) The Kids Zone, where they can enjoy a bouncy castle, face painting and other Scottish-themed fun

(e) The Vendor Village has kiosks selling a wide variety of themed goods.
