Malaysia in southeast Asia is a mix of the modern world along with it's multi cultural, multi ethnic, and multilingual, influences that reflect a blend of chinese, indian, arabic and british. The country is unique with part of it on the mainland peninsula north of Singapore and south of Thailand, as well as part on the island of Borneo. The official language is Malay, but English is widely spoken. The climate is tropical due to it's location near the Equator.
Malaysia Airlines is the national carrier which services the very modern International Airport in Kuala Lumpur with flights from around the world, as well as domestic flights within the counry. There is also a network of trains operated by the State Railway of Thailand and long distance bus service, which makes getting in and around the country easy and at each travelers budget.
There is a lot to see and do in Malaysia besides it's pristine beaches, jungles and national parks; there are many festivals and events held during the year each by a different ethnic group; sales and discount are offered during the three major shopping seasons of the year which also includes music and entertainment; along with dramatic architecture, unusual outdoor food haunts, and hawkers stalls it's all part of the cultural scene.
