Summer 2014 is right around the corner and you know what that means? Beach days, outdoor activities and most importantly, music festivals! This has been quite a year so far in music, with a popular rise in all things electric dance music, the hip hop arena gradually expanding to international artists and more than ever it's becoming easier to make a single - however, it's always quality over quantity in all things music.
With some underground and emerging musicians already giving established artists a run for their money, we give you a list of artists, if you know them or not, should definitely be on your radar this summer!
If you like Aaliyah, then you will simple adore, Rochelle Jordan (aka RoJo (pronounced RO-JOE), hailing from Toronto, Canada. With her alluring vocals and melodies will be stuck in your head, like her popular played single on soundcloud, called "Follow Me".
Two cats, one game. The duo Abhi and Dijon, make up Abhi//Dijon, who are known for their hypnotic tracks, both fast paced and slow. Take a listen to their intimate track, "Twelve" (below) and you'll see what we mean. Their highly anticipated EP is to be released sometime this year.

Brooklyn band, Karikatura, known for their transglobal sounds, and for further proof is them performing in various subway stations through New York City. We spotted them at Union Square, and they caused a scene with a group of 40+ stopping during New York rush hour performing their rather catchy and original singles.
Karikatura has a show in New York City coming up at Bowery Electric on June 1st. The release date for their record is June 3rd.
Next , hailing from Australia, but first listen below to"I’m A Fantastic Wreck" (track below). The song is from Montaigne’s forthcoming debut EP, due for release later this year, however, creating quite a buzz already. The EP, titled "Life of Montaigne", is like a book, each song a chapter. Each sound is unique, with Montaigne's rather strong soulful vocals. You'll like Montaigne, if you fancy Florence & The Machine.
If you're from New Jersey and Baltimore, then you already know. Trippy Turtle is bringing something different to the congested arena of dance music, with heart thumping jersey club music, collaborations with Diplo and Cashmere Cat and already set to play at The Mad Decent Block Party, this summer. Trippy Turtle can be distinguished by his signature phrase during his tracks for his love of turtles or just to go along with the theme of his name. Seriously. However, this is not verified for the record. Possibly, a interview coming soon? We're working on that.
If you like The Weekend, you'll like Adrian Daniel from Brooklyn who just teamed up with German producer, LO to bring you their soulfully infectious EP, titled, "Fkking High" That is currently available for free download.
