Hollywood is a crazy place where healthy curves are deemed “fat,” sample sizes are the ideal and women transform themselves into unrecognizable creatures in pursuit of eternal youth—the body image issues are as common as the bandage dresses. Fresh-faced actors, singers and models might be discovered with normal-sized bodies and beautiful curves, but the longer they spend in the spotlight, they greater the chance that they will morph into bland lollipop-heads that blend in too much with their celebrity brethren. And, as you'll see from our list, men aren't immune either!
Each person on this list has a different reason for their dramatic weight loss, but if you ask us, they could all stand to eat a cheeseburger. Hey vegetarians, we’re not picky–tofu or a large salad would also be acceptable, as long as it has plenty of calories, protein and fat.
Are there any celebrities you think have been looking scary-skinny in 2013? Do you disagree with any of our choices? Sound off in the comments below!

![Actor/musician Jared Leto emerged in early December 2012 looking...different. The hunky muscles were gone, and his always-prominent cheekbones began to protrude too much, given his face a sunken-in appearance. Fortunately, he revealed that the change wasn't caused by anything sinister, and he was fasting for his role in the upcoming movie "Dallas Buyer's Club," in which he will play a transsexual woman with AIDS. Fasting can wreak havoc on the body, but Jared is focused solely on his craft. “Historically, people have [fasted] for pursuit of self, to achieve a meditative state, so I’m hoping for that, and not the other things,” he said, laughing. “It’s not necessarily a bad thing.” Actor/musician Jared Leto emerged in early December 2012 looking...different.
