If you're visiting the beautiful island of Bermuda, one of the cities you may want to explore is Hamilton. It's an important city, being the capital of Bermuda and the main financial district. However, in addition to the office buildings you'll also find plenty of things for tourists and visitors to do.

One of the most popular things to do in Hamilton is go shopping. There are lots of stores and restaurants, especially right where the ferry dock is located. Aside from that, though, you'll find plenty of history and culture in Hamilton. There are art galleries, tours, and more to see and do.

Hamilton is accessible by both ferry and a number of buses. Though it's not a beach area, Hamilton is definitely worth a visit for those that are interested in the city itself, how it runs, and its history.

  • Visit City Hall and Arts Centre - there are two art galleries here: Bermuda National Gallery and Bermuda Society of Arts Gallery.  Both are free to visit, though they accept donations, and show off the rich culture that Bermuda has to offer.  In addition to the art galleries there is also a theatre in the building, where you may be able to catch a play or performance during your visit.
  • Take the ferry - if you'll be elsewhere on the island and have to travel to get to Hamilton, take the ferry over.  Not only is it usually the most direct way to get there, you'll also get to pass by some gorgeous scenery and brightly colored houses.  It's the perfect opportunity for some photography!
