The ocean is vast and beautiful. Spanning most of the world (which is made up of far more water than land), the ocean is a source of many life forms and odd creatures. The ocean is home to huge whales and tiny hermit crabs. Brilliant coral reefs flourish beneath the waters as do dark and deep recesses (like the Mariana Trench).
The ocean is almost as climatically diverse as the land. There are areas of the water that are very warm and hospitable to life forms like sharks and manatees. There are also areas of the water that are freezing cold, such as those off the coast of the Artic which are favored by penguins and seals. The ocean can be bland or extremely bright and colorful. Coral reefs, like the amazing Great Barrier Reef, teem with life and vibrancy.
The ocean is also very diverse with the kinds of fish that reside in it. Like the land, which is full of all kinds of creatures of assorted shapes and sizes, the sea has some very interesting and visually appealing (and sometimes unappealing) residents. Below is a list of five of the most unique and interesting looking fish in the ocean.
