If you're starting to think that this winter will never end, here are five crafts to get you and the kids in the mood for spring. Once you add these decorations to your home, all that will be missing is a warm breezy day (and hopefully the weather will cooperate soon!)
Coffee Filter Butterflies
Simple and pretty, these butterflies are made from coffee filters, watercolor paints, and pipe cleaners. Have the kids paint in a variety of colors. Once the filter is completely dry, pinch it in the middle and add the pipe cleaner.
See the step by step, including templates for flower petals, here. Simply trace the petals onto tissue paper, cut out the shapes, and attach to straws.
Bird Nest Craft
Using simple supplies leftover from other projects, this cute birds nest is fun and easy to make. Gather up a paper plate, some paint, googly eyes, and construction paper, and find the step-by-step instructions here.
Tissue Paper Flower
The combinations are only limited by the paper you have. Whether you use traditional spring colors or get creative and make your own flowers, find the step-by-step for folding and creating these pretty flowers here.
Egg Carton Flowers
Recycle empty toilet paper rolls and paper egg cartons by turning them into beautiful vases of flowers. The only other supplies are pipe cleaners, pom poms, and paints. Find the how-to here.
