With the addition of Albu, the UFC now has over a dozen females signed to its 135-pound ranks.
The signing is quite surprising, as Albu is relatively unknown outside of Russia.
Albu, one of the top Crossfit competitors in Russia, started martial arts with a karate background, and is currently a black belt. She is a power lifter, having won the Moscow Cup, and she's also a talented judoka.
Albu trains out of KEGI MMA and the Red Fury Fight team, but has also trained in Phuket, Thailand in Muay Thai.
All but one of her MMA wins happened in Thailand. Her last fight was in her native Russia against Pankration Champion Lyubov Demidova. She has earned first-round stoppages in each of her five victories.
The UFC hasn't made any official comment yet on the signing, but fight fans across the globe have already taken to social media and various MMA forums to express their delight.
With so many talented bantamweights still not signed to the UFC, Albu's signing was quite interesting. Leslie Smith, Sarah D'Alelio and Miriam Nakamoto are just some of the many names available for the taking, but the UFC opted to sign a relatively unknown fighter in Albu.
Part of the reason obviously has to do with the UFC wanting to go to Russia next year. Albu is a good looking female fighter who happens to have a warm personality and superb physical appearance. She can be marketable for the promotion if she turns out to be a decent fighter.
At the very least they can give her an easy fight on a card in Russia and try and build her into something.
In honor of Albu's signing, here's a look at five pics of her celebrating the female athletic build.
