Much has been made of the future of quarterback Tim Tebow's career in recent weeks. Many national pundits were quick to declare his time in the NFL as over after the former Gator was cut by the New England Patriots during the final week of the preseason.
Others have taken a more measured view, arguing that Tebow ought to at least entertain the idea of playing in a lesser league to sharpen his skills. Life as an NFL back-up means a lot of practice, but very little game-time experience. In fact, Tebow amassed only 39 passing and 102 rushing yards in short stint with the New York Jets last year. He completed 6 of 8 passes during the entire season.
If he were to look north of the border, Tebow might be a starter in the Canadian Football League. As an added bonus, the CFL's season ends in November, giving him time to campaign for a late season NFL roster spot if he proves himself.
It's a path many other great quarterbacks have taken.
The following is a list of 5 NFL greats that Tim Tebow could learn a thing or two from.
