This week fans of iconic author Anne Rice were given a reason to hope again.
According to a variety of entertainment sources, as well as, the author herself, CBS has begun preliminary production on a television show based upon Rice's "Angel Time", which is the first book in her "Songs of the Seraphim" series.
The novel explores the life of Toby O'Dare, a ruthless assassin with a tragic past, who with the help of an angel, is given the chance to redeem himself. Going back in time, Toby must find a way to save the innocent and put an end to the injustice that threatened them.
While fans of Mrs. Rice's work have had reason to believe in the possibility of a TV or movie adaption in the past, according to the author, "I am very fond and admiring of the producers who are working with "Angel Time". I love their other shows including "Unforgettable", "Elementary" and "Justified". I have high hopes for the project given the strength of this producing team."
Mrs. Rice will also be acting as an Executive Producer on the series.
