Learning a language other than your mother tongue can be a daunting task, but it is not impossible and even those of us over 21 (and out of college) can still learn a new language if we apply ourselves. Here are some great ideas for ways to learn a new language using online sites and resources.

1. Watch Foreign language films.

You'll want to make sure the subject matter is clean and that the producer has a reputation for making quality films. For this you may need to do a bit of research. Past that, many of these films will have sub-titles. This is the best way to start. Listen and read-a-long as you watch a short series or film. As you progress, you may want to try watching without the captions and then watch again to see if you got it right!

2. Use internet learning sites.

Internet sites such as Babbel.com, or the 'Talk to Me' sites are great tools for helping you learn to speak a foreign language. French.flashcards.com is another online tool that uses flash cards to help you practice and test your language skills. Check out TalktomeinKorean another great option for those looking to learn to speak Korean.

3. YouTube.

There are many YouTube videos online that are published in order to help you learn another language. The 'Let's Learn Spanish' channel is one such resource.

4. Foreign Music.

If you are a music lover, this is a great way to pick up some of the language. Watch music videos in the language of your choice online and you'll be amazed how quickly you will start to understand the meanings of words and phrases. This will also help with your pronunciation skills.

Happy Learning!
