The week of September 16 - 22 is Pollution Prevention week. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is encouraging Americans to prevent or reduce pollution.
Bakersfield residents, who live in one of the nation's most polluted air basins, may wish to do some of the following things, details of which may be found on various webpages put together by EPA.
According to EPA, "By being aware of how we generate pollution in our daily lives and taking steps to reduce impacts – by making greener product choices, and adopting commonsense and cents-saving measures— we can each reduce our environmental footprints and collectively improve the health of our communities and country."
