The Songwriter Feature Series hosts some quality songwriter events around the Nashville area, including the combined efforts on many occasions with NashvilleEar.com, to showcase both quality independent songwriters and successfully accomplished songwriters.
In an interview with Nashville Places and Faces Examiner, Jeremy Dean, who is one of the co-hosts for the Songfeature Feature Series had this to say, “The viewership of TV shows like ‘Nashville,’ and the upswing of independent music in general should signal the major radio networks and ‘the powers that be’ that pushing aside great songwriting to cater to hybrid ‘artist/writers,’ in order to harness the package/publishing dollars on the back end is a no excuse for ‘entertainment’ or ‘radio.’
Jeremy further states: "I guess it’s a good thing we (songwriters) don’t just do it for the money. These types of venues, that feature the music (in a Bluebird Cafe type fashion) provide a really enjoyable experience for music-lovers to hear some really great songs they might not otherwise hear, and it’s a chance for the writers to connect with an audience directly.”
The Songwriter Feature Series currently offers two great evenings each month, with a variety of genres and musical tastes represented, offering something the whole family (and friends) can enjoy – comfortable environments featuring good singer/songwriters and their music:
