While the deadline for the teams competing in hockey during the 2014 Winter Olympics to submit their rosters was moved back until Jan. 7; the United States is still planning on releasing their roster during the Winter Classic on New Year’s Day.
With the unveiling of the rosters fast approaching; predictions as to who will make the cut are beginning to pop up. In an effort not to feel left out; Examiner.com decided to play the part of Team USA General Manager David Poile, and make our own projection.
The 2014 Winter Olympic games will take place in Sochi, Russia from Feb. 7 through Feb. 23. Hockey will be contested between Feb. 12-23.
This roster combines speed, skill, grit, experience and chemistry. The United States has taken home silver medals in two of the past three Olympics. This grouping may have what it takes for the U.S. to take home gold in Sochi.
Without any further adieu, here is who we would bring to Sochi and why they have what it takes to compete for gold.
