On April 6, 2014, Bill Barnett announced that he and others require assistance with brainstorming the top five areas of artistic discipline in planning for the next Storytellers Creative Arts (SCA). The SCA team needs a response to this request by Friday, April 11.

This will be SCA's fifth annual conference. SCA, also called Storytellers Conference, will be held at Covenant Church of Naples in Naples, Fla. and other venues.

"We are in the process of preparations to begin registration for the 5th annual Storytellers Conference. We are brainstorming topics for breakouts and would like to ask you to help us. We need everyone to please send a few topics of interest or subjects pertaining to artists and equipping them to make an impact on the culture. This is in addition to any types of workshops or needs that one or one's ministry may have that the conference can address." - Bill Barnett with SCA

According to Barnett the conference will also address general topics pertaining to the artist, faith and culture. The purpose of the conference is to motivate and inspire emerging and experienced artists.

The conference will not be held until November 2014. Plans for it have already begun, and the dates will be announced soon. To learn more about this conference, their disciplines and requests go to Storytellers Creative Arts. Also enjoy media video clips at SCA Media.

The top five artistic disciplines include drama, music/vocal, writing/storytelling, visual arts/design and filmmaking/broadcasting/photography.

This is an exciting event for artists, writers, filmmakers, dancers, singers, musicians, designers, techies, storytellers, speakers, actors, worship leaders, and more.

SCA provides opportunities of connection and networking among artists – both professional and emerging.  Creative Expression groups are offered, which include discussion on topics about faith, art and culture along with hands on creativity, in community with other artists, experiencing support and sharing ideas.

Filmmaking can take place outside of the mainstream and is commonly called independent filmmaking. Since the introduction of DV technology, the means of production have become more democratized.

Filmmakers can shoot and edit a film, create and edit the sound and music, and mix the final cut on a home computer.

TV Station Control Room

Video production is the process of creating video by capturing moving images (videography), and creating combinations and reductions of parts of this video in live production and post-production (video editing). In most cases the captured video will be recorded on electronic media such as video tape, hard disk, or solid state storage, but it might only be distributed electronically without being recorded. It is the equivalent of filmmaking, but with images recorded electronically instead of film stock.
