Women’s basketball in the America East Conference will have a little different feel in 2013-14 than in previous seasons.
Not only have several key players graduated such as America East Co-Players of the Year Chantell Alford (Boston University) and Ebone Henry (Albany) but Boston University has also decided to move on. BU, ranked third in the history of the America East Conference with 239 regular-season conference victories, won three regular season conference titles and one conference tourney crown. BU moved to the Patriot League and the America East has replaced them with UMass-Lowell.
The America East had three teams reach the postseason for a fifth time in six years. Albany, which won both the 2012-13 regular season title and the conference tournament crown, received the conference’s automatic bid while Hartford and Boston University participated in the WNIT.
The rest of the article will look at each of the nine teams in the America East (in order of predicted finish). Last year’s record is in parenthesis.
