It’s just four days until the SYFY Channel’s ‘Twilight Zone’ New Year’s Eve marathon. A yearly tradition that is must see viewing for fans of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror.
‘The Twilight Zone’ aired during the squeaky clean era of 50’s/60’s Network television, which tended to avoid anything too distressing (in fact creator Rod Serling would spend much of his energy finding clever ways to thwart meddling censors by disguising controversial material with metaphor.)
And as the years go by, things that were creepier in the 50’s and 60’s are much more quaint today.
But ‘The Twilight Zone’s’ eerie mood and black and white cinematography allowed for many unsettling moments and concepts that still remain effective over 50 years later.
With that in mind, here are the 16 creepiest moments from the iconic series, many of which you'll be able to catch over the course of the marathon.
