With the weather getting colder and Halloween right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to snuggle under a blanket with kids and watch a memorable Halloween movie. However, many are too scary for younger children. When it comes to Halloween, zombies, witches, ghosts and goblins can frighten younger children. That’s why it’s important to focus on the less frightening, more fun aspects of the holiday.
Movie studios understand this and many have produced some truly amazing Halloween movies for kids of all ages. From the classics “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and “ET” to more recent films like “Monster House,” “Haunted Mansion” and “Monsters Inc,” great movies don't have to be scary at all. Seriously, how can any family let Halloween pass without watching the Peanuts gang gather in the Great Pumpkin Patch? So, skip the slasher movies and horror flicks. Instead, grab the popcorn, light a fire, dim the lights and share a favorite Halloween-themed movie with your kids.
Here is a list of 13 Halloween movies that are rated G, PG or PG-13 (for older kids) to celebrate the spooky season in a non-spooky way.
