During the Dec. 9 episode of ProWMMA Now!, Invicta FC 7 winner Tonya Evinger said she would be open to fighting on a future Invicta FC card against either flyweight champ Barb Honchak (9-2) or bantamweight title holder Lauren Murphy (8-0).
Evinger, 32, defeated perennial bantamweight contender Sarah "The Monster" D'Alelio (7-5) on Dec. 7 at Invicta FC 7 in fairly lopsided fashion, and she says it was a great experience competing under the Invicta FC banner.
"Yeah to be honest I don't know why I haven't been on yet before besides the fact that certain people hate me," Evinger told show host Gina Begley. "Aside from that, they should be putting me on for my ability, not necessarily my popularity with certain people.
"Especially out here in Kansas City, I fought out here on a couple different cards and I sell a lot of tickets. People know me out here. I wrestled and I grew up here and they've heard my name. I'd be excited to fight for their promotion again or for anybody else really that's ready to give me a shot, and go from there.
"But definitely Invicta treated me really well and I enjoyed fighting for them and I'm ready to do it again."
Evinger hasn't ruled out a drop down to 125, but she's also content to stay in the bantamweight ranks. She just wants to fight the best in the world.
Evinger says she would be down to fight Invicta FC flyweight champ Barb Honchak or bantamweight champ Lauren Murphy.
"I'd fight either one of them girls. I'd fight Barb Honchak at 125 or Lauren [Murphy] at 135," Evinger said. "Doesn't matter to me. As long as I think I'm the best, I should beat them. Wherever I go, wherever they offer me money, wherever they offer me a spot, wherever they offer me a belt shot, that's where I'm going."
Here's a look at 15 fights that should happen at Invicta FC 8.
